Participating! I’m hoping to meet lots of other people and see what they are doing. I’ve got a project called Made This For You that I’m trying to get back off the ground and hoping to present it during the open mic “what are you working on and what do you need” as I’ve got it up, but need some help with it.
I’m a software engineer by day and like to get my hands dirty in all types of technology and it’s applications, but I’m a creative person as well and like to meld both passions together.
Mobile of course has been taking a strong hold on society lately, but I’m most passionate and interested in augmented reality and it’s future applications. I’m also interested in the psychology of how technology is affecting us as social beings and our society – so while it’s not the technology itself that interests me, it’s the application of that technology.
I wish to still have the option to maintain privacy if I choose to while not losing the ability to communicate with people or find out information. I wish that technology would help create equal opportunity for everyone.

Creating work in the 21st Century requires an understanding of storytelling and technology. But for many technology is a bit of a mystery, let alone understanding how it can assist storytelling on an emotional level. New roles are emerging as storytelling spills across screens, devices and out into the real world and back. Creative Technologists have emerged and are helping to lead many projects into the 21st Century. Join two top Creative Technologists working in NYC (Heidi Hysell and Mark Harris) as they pull back the curtain on what it takes to design, build and manage creative solutions using emerging and established technologies.
Heidi Hysell has focused her career on entertainment technology as technologist, launching cross platform products including Adult Swim’s comedy network Super Deluxe, 4mm Games’ Def Jam Rapstar and is currently working on the new cross platform Viacom initiative NickMom. She consults with other NYC startups, works on building her own projects and occasionally works with artists on other creative pursuits. She holds a degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.
